DEURNE, NL – February 2009 – DIMA Dispense Technology, a division of the DIMA Group is proud to announce the successful installation of the Hybrid Selective Conformal Coater HC-200 at Sonel S.A. in Poland. Sonel S.A. is a manufacturer of high quality electric test equipment and measuring instruments for the power industry and telecommunications.

Besides their own production Sonel S.A. can also operate as a sub-contractor to the electronics industry.Highest quality, flexibility and the most progressive machine have been the key reasons for Sonel S.A. to choose DIMA as a partner to automate their coating production.   Sonel was looking for a highly flexible selective conformal coating machine. They have a wide variety of different boards to be coated and were looking for the possibility to use different types of coating material. Besides flexibility, high quality performance was an absolute necessity in order to guarantee the level of high quality products being produced. Another important selection criteria was the ability to receive local support for the machine and the coating process, which is supported by Interflux Poland. During the selection criteria Sonels’ technical engineers visited several companies to see all kind of coating machines in a production environment. The final decision to choose the DIMA HC-200 was based on the following aspects. The HC-200 has standard integrated process control by monitoring all available material and atomising air pressures to ensures repeatability and product quality. Furthermore the HC-200 has the ability to have a total amount of four different dispense and spray valves mounted in the machine. Also the possibility to use up to four different materials within one program. The solid mechanical construction and the best qualified software that enables full off-line preparation of boards was another major decision making argument. The standard integrated camera that can be used for fiducial alignment, but also for inspection was also beneficial compared to other suppliers. Finally the HC-200 is utilizing a 4 axis machine with rotating head that enables to dispense under any required angle with the dispense or spray valve pointed straight down or under an angle when the valves are being tilted. This Provides Sonel with a machine that can handle not only the boards they need to coat today, but also with the insurance that any new board that is being designed in the future can be coated on the DIMA HC-200. Visit of the Queens commisionner to DIMA Group
On Wednesday March 16th the Royal Commissioner of the province Noord Brabant, mr. Wim van de Donk and the mayor of Deurne, Hilco Mak together with a delegation of 16 people visited DIMA Group on occasion of the acquaintance of Deurne. The Royal Commissioner has chosen to visit DIMA because of its recent product innovations and its international character. He was very interested to learn from DIMA what is needed for other local companies to become a major player in its own field of experience. We need more companies like DIMA that can become an international respected company by innovations and creativity.
Where high-tech industry is booming other sectors still suffer from an economic crisis. The Royal Commissioner was of opinion that it is very important for regional municipalities to work together. "These are difficult times in which choices have to be made for the future. These can be painful in times of economic crisis."
After a presentation of DIMA Group and her leading role in the conformal coating and mid-size pick and place industry the discussion went on. A pled was made not to bring too much govern funds to the big high-tech multinationals but instead of that to spend the money on education of technical students so that we will not be without a workforce in the near future. Mr. van de Donk shared this opinion and explained that he was trying to decentralize the funding for education because in our province we need students to be educated for other professions than nearby cities like Amsterdam.
A company tour with the VIPs ending in the DIMA Dispense Technology application laboratory gave a good impression about how far DIMA as a high-tech company has come since 1986. DIMA Group celebrates its 25th anniversary this year operating in the centre of Brainport, the high-tech region of Western Europe. A concentration of high-tech industry and research institutes, helping DIMA Group to stay ahead of the competition.
